href="http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/airlines/Air-Southwest/">Air Southwest passengers on href="http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/flights/London/">flights to London will soon be able to purchase their Oyster card for travel on the capital’s bus and tube network while still on the plane.

The airline is the first carrier to offer the service, selling its pre-paid public transport cards on href="http://www.cheapflights.co.uk">flights from Plymouth and surfing hotspot Newquay to href="http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/airports/London-City/">London City and href="http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/airports/Gatwick/">London Gatwick.

Passengers are able to buy the Visit Oyster electronic smartcards for £22, which includes £20 of credit redeemable on the tube, buses, DLR, overground trains and other services.

Commenting on the new facility, airline spokesman Mike Coombes said: “This is all about giving Air Southwest customers from Plymouth and Newquay hassle-free travel in London, whether they are flying to London City Airport or Gatwick, without having to buy tickets.”

Richard Gooding, chief executive of London City Airport added: “The airport is committed to giving passengers the smoothest journey possible and this will add to that.”

London City is already the UK airport with the highest proportion of inbound passengers who make use of public transport, due primarily to its dedicated DLR station.
